Announcement    Welcome to the Icelandic Soap shop.

The soap is handmade from scratch with an old cold processed style method and molded into small loafs. The recipe and development of the soap is, however, our invention. Our aim is to make the soap in as nature friendly manner as possible. All ingredients are high quality and vegan friendly. The main ingredients are extra virgin olive oil, cocos oil and Icelandic water.

We use essential oils and fragrance oils for scent. The scent evokes wonderful feelings and leaves only a mild scent on the body. The soap color is natural and safe for bath and beauty products and does not stain the skin. Dark soaps and soaps with strong colors may, however, stain light color wash cloths.
Sodium hydroxide is a key ingredient for soap making and is used in making of all soap bars. It is produced by electrolysis of salt water. Our mixture of edible oils is turned into soap by reaction with sodium hydroxide, this turns the fatty acids in the oils to alkaline minerals. The acidity in the soaps is around 8-11 pH. The soap cleans very well and at the same time softens the skin and are also great for shaving.

Scientific researches have shown that soaps like these are very safe when it comes to bacteria. Bacteria that may be transported on to the soap's surface during use are not transported back to the user. This is because any bacteria on the surface will be washed away when the lather is rinsed off.

The soap can last for a long time if you make sure it dries between use.

We also make some glycerin soaps; embeds and soap bars and we use only highest quality glycerin soap base SLS free, from Stephenson in UK.

Our soaps are sold in many shops in Iceland around the the country. That is huge recommendation for our soaps :-) They are very popular among tourists who visit Iceland.
